Givenchy Fall 2016

By  |

For Fall 2016, Riccard Tisci traded the romance and simplicity of Spring’s lingerie for the mysticism of Egypt. Tailored military coats, vaguely Sixties dresses and knee-length, low-rider Bermuda shorts, all worn with skin-tight, knee-high boots in suede or python, worked in unison as an iconographic neo-bourgeois uniform. Many of the cool psychedelic looks -displays of Egyptian symbols, rendered as whirling mosaic prints and precise patchworks- were loaded with animal motifs — leopard-printed furs and python coats, cropped jackets and boots — intensifying the opulent exotica and indulging Tisci and the Egyptians’ shared obsession with animals.
