For fall 2016, J.Crew’s Somsack Sikhounmuong was inspired by pretty and what does pretty mean — lots of pink, ruffles and silk scarves. The new head of womenswear complemented that girlish palette via some flirty details with a dappling of sparkle and shine, but nicely grounded the tone by mixing those elements with menswear-inspired tailoring and coats and hardy items such as cropped, wide-leg chinos.
