Shop Gucci cosmetics and makeup line: Frida Giannini’s first beauty collection
Gucci has finally launched its much-anticipated first cosmetics line including makeup for lips, eyes, face and nail polish, along with brushes and skin-prep products, developed in collaboration with legendary makeup artist and P&G’s Global Creative Design Director, Pat McGrath, just in time for the Holiday season.
When Giannini pulled fabric swatches from the Gucci archives for inspiration, she zeroed in on six anchoring colors that run through the line: gold, black, red, bronze, copper, and vivid peacock, ottanio (Italian for teal). “The iconic colors are really the colors Frida loved,” says McGrath. Tiny flecks of aqua give the eye shadow a glimmer that’s stunning against a bare face with tons of black mascara. (The shade also comes in a liner and a mascara.) “For me, beauty and fashion are always connected. One doesn’t exist without the other,” says creative director Frida Giannini. “Makeup is a key element of the Gucci runway show. Eyes, skin, lips—they’re like accessories, all working together to create an unmistakable look.”
