Chloé Pre-Fall 2017
Warm and nostalgic was the leitmotif of Clare Waight Keller’s Chloé Pre-Fall 2017 collection. Which referenced the free-spirited heroines of Woody Allen movies -Diane Keaton or Meryl Streep- and was built on the notion of bundling you up in layers of deeply tactile textures, through fabrics that worked into the type of oversize and non-sexualized volumes mixed with chunky and cozy knits that spoke to the era of the newly liberated late ’1970s.
“There was something about the wardrobe that came around then, which has become quite iconic, but at the time was actually normal, in a sense,” Waight Keller said about the collection. “There was something nice about the fact of that sort of normal-ness, but at the same time, the charm and the personal whimsy of the clothes.”
