Christopher Bailey gives Burberry the rainbow factor

By  |

Christopher Bailey said his goodbye to Burberry after seventeen years with an epic runway show that reworked and reissued some of the most iconic pieces from the 1980s and 1990s discovered in the Burberry Archive. The Rainbow Check collection, part of an initiative to support charities that help LGBTQ, or lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, youths, in store now, featured the hightlights of the night.

Burberry is supporting three LGBTQ+ charities dedicated to broadening support for this community around the world. The rainbow, a symbol of inclusiveness and joy, is celebrated throughout the February collection.

‘My final collection here at Burberry is dedicated to – and in support of – some of the best and brightest organisations supporting LGBTQ+ youth around the world. There has never been a more important time to say that in our diversity lies our strength, and our creativity.’
– Christopher Bailey

«Time. Reflecting the past. Celebrating the present. Heralding the future.
A patchwork of characters and identities. A riot of colour. Traditional techniques reimagined to create exquisite new finishes; rediscovered pieces made new.»
