Oscar de la Renta Fall/Winter 2014-15 #NYFW
Chez Oscar de la Renta there are always plenty of choices. All of them feminine and completely divine. The silhouettes yesterdat night were sharpened up tailoring and opted for a graphic palette of black and white with jolts of blue and crimson, which gave typically dainty, ladylike treatments some bite. He also liked black leather this season—another surprise—and used it for wide-leg trousers, a sexy pencil skirt with a fluted hem, and, most dramatically, a shawl-collar coat with a graceful A-line swing. A Chantilly lace blouse with black floral guipure appliqué worn with tuxedo pants, for example, was surprisingly seductive and a sleeveless, knee-length dress patchworked from wide stripes of bouclé jacquard, each color embroidered in a different motif, was the favourite of the audience.
