Roberto Cavalli Spring 2022 by Fausto Puglisi. FROM VOGUE: In 2021, a young generation of female designers is redefining sexy. How does a male designer a generation older than them take on the subject of sexy when his remit is to rebrand the sexy of a generation before his own? If that sounds complicated, then you have a picture of the task at hand for Fausto Puglisi, who was appointed to Roberto Cavalli a year ago and presented his first runway show in Milan tonight.

No. 21 Spring 2022. FROM VOGUE: Alessandro Dell’Acqua has always been an ardent proponent of body positivity—or at least, he has always believed in the power of an expressive yet natural sensuality. This approach, which sits at the heart of his work, is now being picked up by a younger generation of designers in collections celebrating the body in all its diverse glory. Not surprisingly, for spring Dell’Acqua reiterated the concept in his own way.

Alberta Ferretti Spring 2022. FROM VOGUE: The mascot of the spring 2022 shows has to be the butterfly. Eighteen months of pandemic and it’s not hard to understand why, with its associations of reemergence and rebirth. The word Alberta Ferretti used backstage was renaissance, which has a useful double meaning in her case. In the seasons leading up to the crisis, Ferretti had been investing her efforts in expanding her ready-to-wear.
