These looks felt more Galliano (X Dior) than Maison Martin Margiela Couture Spring 2015
He’s back. The fisrt John Galliano for Maison Martin Margiela fashion show took place off-schedule, during London Collections: Men (normally shown in Paris during Couture Week). While it’s impossible to make everyone happy, Galliano’s debut collection for Margiela’s Artisanal line demonstrated that he’s going to walk neatly down the middle of the road, and while he re-established and rehabilitated his old and heavy flourishes (we’re talking king of fashion extravagance here) blending the highest technical skills to create looks not only excessive and sexy, but also romantic, ethereal, John also paid tribute to Margiela’s deconstructed and minimalist grotesqueness.
It was almost the perfect collage.
