This year, we’re celebrating International Women’s Day with MYTHERESA

By  |

To coincide with International Women’s Day on March 8th, MyTheresa -one of the world’s leading online stores for luxury fashion, and our definite favourite- has created «Personal Matters». This chapter features a series of private items donated exclusively to Mytheresa by 12 of the fashion industry’s leading designers, all for a good cause. Designers include: Alessandro Michele (Gucci), Maria Grazia Chiuri (Dior), Pierpaolo Piccioli (Valentino), Miuccia Prada (Prada), Demna Gvasalia (Balenciaga), Silvia Fendi (Fendi), Jonathan Anderson (JW Anderson), Sandra Choi (Jimmy Choo), Brunello Cucinelli (Brunello Cucinelli), Kym Ellery (Ellery) and Lucie & Luke Meier (Jil Sander).

Each of the designers have handpicked personal items, such as a customized Gucci jacket by and from Alessandro Michele, a Balenciaga clutch signed by Demna Gvasalia, a Vintage necklace of Sandra Choi, a book tote with Maria Grazia Chiuri’s initials and a signed T-Shirt of her first collection both from Dior, as well as some small art pieces and signed books amongst others.

All “Personal Matters” will be sold on the Mytheresa website, from March 8th – 19th 2019. In addition, Mytheresa will include the prints of eight female photographers works from the chapters of “The Album” in the overall auction. From both the «Personal Matters» and these additional pieces of art, 100% of the auction proceeds will go to ‘mothers2mothers’, an international nonprofit organization, dedicated to preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV and creating healthy families by providing education and support to women, children and families.

«We are so excited to have been chosen by Mytheresa as their charity partner to mark International Women’s Day. At mothers2mothers, we celebrate women every day: We believe in the power of women to create change in their own lives, and those of their families and communities. We see the 3,000 Wonder Women we work with do this on a daily basis – HIV-positive women from local com- munities who are trained and employed by mothers2mothers as «Mentor Mothers».
