Balenciaga Spring/Summer 2014 at #PFW

It’s fair to say that this collection continued in the same safe territory as the first of Alexander Wang’s in the house. While finding his feet at the house, he’s feeling encouraged to go beyond the homage phase clearly working within its tried and tested framework of Balenciaga ideas: sportswear reimagined in a luxury way, and vice versa. Where that first show had a certain purity of form with its direct lines to Cristóbal Balenciaga, his new effort had a sense of experiment and play.
